Working with Sarah

What is it like to work with Sarah?

My approach to photography is the perfect mix of documentary and portraiture. I won't pose you into stiff, unnatural poses, nor will I leave you to your own devices to just wander aimlessly during your session.

During your session, I'll give simple and easy prompts to let you fall into your own natural poses within the guidelines I've set. I find this is the best way to let you be yourself while still making sure to capture those playful, intimate moments that you will cherish for years to come.

WHERE WILL MY PHOTOS BE TAKEN? DO YOU HAVE A STUDIO?

I do not have a studio. Portraits are done either in the comfort of your own home, or at a location of your choice from my location guide. I recommend different locations based on your preferences. If you have a specific place in mind, please let me know. I especially love when clients have a meaningful activity or location for their portraits.

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU OFFER?

Square, Venmo, Zelle, Paypal, cash, and check.

Have another method you want to try? Just message me.

DO YOU TRAVEL?

Occasionally, I do!

I'm located in Highlands Ranch, CO, but I travel and serve the whole Denver and Colorado Springs areas. On occasion, I'll travel to Salt Lake, UT, Portland, OR and Spokane, WA to visit family, and I love opening up session dates for clients I have in those states. Message me if you'd like to discuss other location options!

Galleries and Delivery

HOW MANY PICTURES WILL I GET?

If you schedule the standard 1 hour session, you can expect 40+ images, but my typical average is around 60-70 images for full sessions.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM MY DELIVERED GALLERY?

SO much! You'll get at least one awesome smiling shot to send to grandma, but you'll get so much more than that: individual head shots of you and the kids, all the various groupings you could imagine, and little details you've noticed yourself in quiet hours but never captured.

CAN I SEE A FULL GALLERY?

Yes! If you'd like to see a few sample galleries of family portraits click here: https://sarahlislephotography75.pixieset.com/g/samplefamilygalleries/

Newborn & Maternity Portraits

WHAT IS A FRESH 48 SESSION?

This is a lifestyle session done in the place of your labor (hospital, home, etc.) and is typically done within 48 hours of baby's birth.

During this session, we get to capture you getting acquainted with your little one without the added stress of giving birth.

WHEN DO WE SCHEDULE THE MATERNITY SESSION?

Maternity sessions are best done at the end of the second trimester or the start of the third trimester. Obviously exceptions can be made, and there are no real rules to when you should document your growing body.

WHEN DO WE SCHEDULE NEWBORN SESSIONS?O YOU HAVE A STUDIO?

Newborn sessions are typically scheduled after 1 week and before

6 weeks of baby's birth. Exceptions are given for NICU babies and unique circumstances: contact me for details.

WHAT IF MY BABY IS OLDER THAN 6 WEEKS? CAN I STILL BOOK A NEWBORN SESSION?

Yes! However, I do want you to understand that after around 6-8 weeks, babies become more alert and mobile, and your images may reflect that.

I'M WORRIED ABOUT MY BABY GETTING SICK. WHAT DO YOU DO TO MAKE SURE YOU DON'T SPREAD ANY GERMS?

As a mom myself, I completely understand and echo this. My number one priority at every photo session is to keep everyone safe. If I develop any symptoms before your session, I will communicate that with you and we can create a plan from there (usually we'll reschedule).

When I arrive at your session, the first thing I'll do is ask to wash my hands. During the session, I make an effort to not touch baby, and instead ask adult family members to move baby as needed. I also follow CDC guidelines for Covid-19 and other disease and illness related restrictions.
