You fall in love with my work, message me, and we get you on my calendar. Now what?
I'll send you a contract and invoice to sign, as well as expert suggestions and guidelines for wardrobes and locations. Once you've picked your location, signed the contract, and paid your deposit, (I ask for 50% of the session price) then we'll both anxiously wait for your session to arrive...
DURING YOUR SESSION
On the day of your session, we'll meet at your home (or the location we decided on), and I'll create a relaxing, calm environment and direct your family with little games or tasks that encourage everyone to engage with and focus on baby.
IF BABY IS FUSSY:
If during the session baby gets fussy or needs to eat or take a minute alone with just mama, that is exactly what I expect to happen. I've scheduled the sessions to allow for time to cater to baby's needs, so don't stress if you need to take a few minutes away.
WHAT WILL I DO DURING A BREAK?
Usually during this time, I capture you doing your thing from a distance, or if you'd prefer privacy, I'll focus on capturing other important details in your home such as baby's room, or the rest of the family, who are also in the middle of an important life experience.
WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY IMAGES?
A day or two after your session, you'll receive a few previews to share with grandparents, aunts & uncles, and faraway friends. Within 2 weeks you'll get an email from me with a link to your gallery. HOORAY! You can expect around 40+ images in your gallery from a full hour session.
PURCHASE PRINTS DIRECTLY FROM THE GALLERY:
When you follow the gallery link in your email, you'll be able to view, download, and share your images. You'll also be able to order prints, albums, cards, calendars, canvases, etc. of the images you love directly from your gallery. (And you'll have a fancy little discount to use on prints as a thank you from me!)
"Sarah did an amazing job on my maternity photos and I can't wait to finish our next session. She has a wonderful eye and captured images that I could have only dreamed of!"
- Bethany B.
"Sarah has a natural eye for photography. Her shots are natural and original. My husband hates having his picture taken because he hates when photographers put him in the typical poses, but because of her calming, sweet personality she was able to work with us and got some candid shots that were absolutely gorgeous!"
- Keri M.
"We had our maternity shoot recently with Sarah! I absolutely LOVED working with her! Right from the moment I contacted her, I knew she was the right photographer for us. ... She made us feel very comfortable during our shoot. Our baby is due in March and she's going to do our newborn photos as well. We can't wait! Thank you Sarah!!!"
This is a lifestyle session done in the place of your labor (hospital, home, etc.) and is typically scheduled within 48 hours of baby's birth.
I'll capture you getting acquainted with your little one. Think lots of snuggles, details of the birth environment, and all those special features of baby: wrinkly toes, fuzzy hair, tiny fingers, etc.
Sessions last up to 1.5 hours and you receive ALL (40+) the edited, high resolution images.
This is the perfect way to capture your new babe while staying in the comfort (and safety) of your own home.
The session lasts one
hour and you receive ALL (40+) the edited, high resolution images. The whole (immediate) family is welcome!
I'll provide expert and personalized wardrobe help, and together we can discuss what specific things you want captured of your perfect new addition.
If you're interested in also capturing your beautiful growing bump, I offer 30 minute sessions as an add-on to either a lifestyle newborn OR a Fresh 48 session.
I believe this is an important
time for the whole family,
so feel free to bring spouses, partners, and/or baby's siblings.
This is a lifestyle session done in the place of your labor (hospital, home, etc.) and is typically done within 48 hours of baby's birth.
During this session, we get to capture you getting acquainted with your little one without the added stress of giving birth.
Newborn sessions are typically scheduled after 1 week and before
6 weeks of baby's birth. Exceptions are given for NICU babies and unique circumstances: contact me for details.
Yes! However, I do want you to understand that after around 6-8 weeks, babies become more alert and mobile, and your images may reflect that.
Maternity sessions are best done at the end of the second trimester or the start of the third trimester. Obviously exceptions can be made, and there are no real rules to when you should document your growing body.
As a mom myself, I completely understand and echo this. My number one priority at every photo session is to keep everyone safe. If I develop any symptoms before your session, I will communicate that with you and we can create a plan from there (usually we'll reschedule).
When I arrive at your session, the first thing I'll do is ask to wash my hands. During the session, I make an effort to not touch baby, and instead ask adult family members to move baby as needed. I also follow CDC guidelines for Covid-19 restrictions.
