As with all military families, saying hello and goodbye is inevitable. A lot of people actually choose not to since sometimes the goodbyes can be really tough. When you move around a lot, you find yourself falling in love with lots of different places and people. It’s so enriching! But it can also be bittersweet. Before the Adams’ moved, we went out to take photos by the lake, a place they often spent their summer days the past few years while their boys grew from babies to kids. I think I decided this is one of my favorite times to capture a family – just before a transition. You get to freeze time and celebrate where you are, and where you’ve been before you move on to someplace new.
These are very nice, I especially like the sun light on the last photo.
What a touching blog post! The words and the images! I know exactly what you’re talking about. We‘ve been moving a lot to. I used to think that I would get used to saying good bye. But I was wrong. Still I wouldn’t change a thing. We met the nicest people and lived in exciting places. ❤️
